THE 2020 BUJO PROJECT
CONTEXT:
Since 2013, the Bullet Journal (Bujo) method has become a producitivty method for millions. All you need is a blank journal and something to write with. I started using a bullet journal in January 2018 after being inspired by AmanadaRachLee on Youtube. Personally, I use it as a daily log and a creative outlet.
I've always wanted to learn Illustrator considering it would be easier to make graphics on there than in Photoshop. However, I never made the time to sit down and learn. So in 2020, I decided I would make my monthly layout using Adobe Illustrator. Each monthly layout includes a cover page and a calendar.
Back in my previous bullet journal spreads, I would always be inspired by a certain quote or lyric and base my design on that. Since March, my music taste has shifted into listening to songs that either inspire hope or remind me of a dreamlike state. I couldn't listen to sad, emotional indie songs during the pandemic and I started listening to kpop even more. This is reflected in the spreads I made in the later half of 2020.
Despite the pandemic pausing a few goals of my mine, I ended up completing all 12 months for 2020 and feel more comfortable with Illustrator now. Since I not a major fan of the drawing aspect of the bullet journal, I'm continuing with this project in 2021, trying to play with vectors and experiment more with the software.
